Each character will generally start in a healthy condition. This means that they are considered 'normal', and are not affected by any ailments, afflictions nor wounds. Characters whom are registered with lost limbs, blindness or other major afflictions can choose to either start with it affecting their character's health or to act as if it were normal for them. This usually depends on how recent the status change in health was.
Normal
When within a normal state, a character's chakra is commonly at full capacity and their Endurance is usually high up as well. If either of these reserves ever are dropped to below 1/2 of the full supply, a character's state will be deemed 'fatigued'. When at a 'Normal' state, any highly damaging attack will not instantly kill a character unless it strikes at a vital organ such as the heart or mind. Instead, it will drag them into fatigue.
Fatigued
When within a fatigued state, a character's chakra or endurance is usually below 1/2 of their full capacity. If either of these reserves ever are dropped to 0, a character's state will be deemed 'exhausted'. When at a 'Fatigued' state, any highly damaging attack will not instantly kill a character unless it strikes at a vital organ such as the heart or mind. Instead, it will drag them into exhaustion. If an attack deals enough damage to take an opponent into the negatives, equal to their Endurance Score, they will instead bypass the exhausted state and move directly into unconsciousness.
Exhausted
Exhaustion is the bottom of the barrel when it comes to a character's health. At this point, either a character's endurance or chakra reserves have dropped down to 0. While a character is within the 'exhausted' state, any highly damaging attack will not instantly kill a character unless it strikes them at a vital organ such as the heart or mind. Instead, it will drag them into unconsciousness.
Unconscious
The state of being Unconscious will only occur when a character's health has been deeply threatened or if BOTH chakra and endurance have both been reduced to 0. While within this state, a character is subject to whatever the opponent may choose to act out. This includes a death sentence. An opponent may deliver death onto any enemy whom is Unconscious, if they land a successful attack that would potentially cause such an outcome.
NOTE - Any and all IC threads on this site will have the potential of death for every character involved. There are no exceptions to this rule. Certain forms of damage will not be calculated into the system, and as such you may request death at any time throughout a fight. However, we would prefer that every RPer plays out the outcome of each thread on their own. So, we have set up a form of health and damage system that should assist within the manner of how to RP combat when someone does withstand what could be a potentially life-threatening attack.
